FriCon: Gas Treatment
The system is designed to dehumidify process gas for use in combined heat and power plants. This is achieved by cooling the process gas in two heat exchangers to temperatures below the dew point. Drying the gas optimises the combustion process in the CHP engine. This increases engine efficiency and lowers fuel gas consumption. The contamination of engine oil with condensate is also reduced, so extending the life time of the oil. In addition, the condensation of water and corrosive compounds inside the gas pipework and CHP plant gas control loop is prevented to a major degree. Substances harmful to the engine, such as hydrogen sulphide and ammonia, are partially released along with the condensate removed.
YOUR BENEFIT:
Cooling capacity is provided both by an air-cooled liquid chiller and by the process gas itself. This method reduces the cooling demand, and reheating with hot water is unnecessary. The compact plant design is suitable for indoor or outdoor installation on a steel support base frame.
